Jesús Corbacho Vazquez (Huelva, 1986) was singing his first fandangos at just two and a half years old. His father instilled in him a passion for the songs of his land from a very young age. At only eleven, he received the First National Prize for Fandangos at the Paco Toronjo Contest in Alosno in the children’s category, a prize he would repeat years later in the adult category. Among his numerous awards, he stands out for the First Prize for Malagueñas at the XLVIII International Cante Festival of Las Minas De La Unión in 2008.
He has worked for dance figures such as Mario Maya, Milagros Mengíbar, Merche Esmeralda, Eva Yerbabuena, Belén Maya, Rocío Molina, Pastora Galván, Rafael and Adela Campallo, Jesús Carmona, Mercedes de Córdoba, “El Choro,” Olga Pericet, Manuel Liñan, Marco Flores, and many others in theaters as important as the City Center of New York, the Opera House of Sydney, the Chaillot Theater in Paris, the Sadlers Wells in London, among others, and in festivals such as the Seville Biennial, the Flamenco Art Festival of Mont de Marsan, Flamenco Festival of the USA and the UK, the Flamenco Biennial of Malaga, the Jerez Festival, the Caja Madrid Festival, etc… In 2023, he was awarded the prize for the best accompanying song at the Jerez Festival.
He has been a guest artist with the National Ballet of Spain in the show “Alento y Zaguán” directed by Antonio Najarro and with the Flamenco Ballet of Andalusia in the show “En la memoria del cante: 1922” directed by Rafaela Carrasco.
Regarding his discography, we highlight his first solo work “Debajo del romero” as well as collaborations on albums like “Tiempo Presente” by Michele Iaccarino, “Historia Antológica del Fandango de Huelva,” “Fandango Joven,” “Herencia,” and “Esta noche es Navidad” as part of the group “Niños de Huelva,” “Movimiento” by Luis Medina…
As a solo singer, his participation in flamenco festivals of great importance such as the Flamenco Festival of Chicago USA, the Flamenco Festival of Huelva, the Festival de Ojén, the Flamenco Days of La Fortuna, or the Suma Flamenca Festival of Madrid stands out.
