Iván Carpio

Born in Jerez into a family with a strong flamenco tradition, both on the maternal and paternal sides, he is the grandnephew of the renowned Gypsy singer Antonio Núñez “El Chocolate.” He also has connections to the Moneo and Valencia sagas.
As a young child, he began working with the Farruco family, touring significant theaters around the world. He has also shared stages with artists of the caliber of Pitingo and Miguel Poveda.
Throughout his career, he has won awards such as the Young Flamenco Contest of the Andalusian Peñas Federation and the “Desencaja” prize awarded by the Andalusian Flamenco Agency.
Despite his primarily traditional style, he also participates in more contemporary projects. He is currently recording his debut album with guitarist José Gálvez.
