Flamenco dancer
Huelva, 1985
He learned the basics of flamenco from his father “El Choro” and expanded his training with Manolo Marín and Javier Cruz, until in 1999 he won the II Young Flamenco Dance Contest of Huelva organized by the Cristina Heeren Foundation. This led him to settle in Seville to continue his studies at this school with teachers such as Javier Latorre, Javier Barón, Israel Galván, or Rafael Campallo, among others.

In 2002, he joined Israel Galván’s company in the show “Galvánicas.” In 2003, he participated in the tour of the show “Rafael Campallo y los Jóvenes Flamencos” organized by the Cristina Heeren Foundation. In 2004, he performed at the Jerez Festival in the show by Adela and Rafael Campallo. That same year, he became part of Eva la Yerbabuena’s Company, with the show “Eva.” In 2005, he performed as a solo dancer in the cycle organized by the Flamenco Peñas of Huelva and Seville, and in 2006, he participated in the Seville Flamenco Biennial as part of the “Jóvenes Promesas” cycle. He was also requested by the company of Mercedes Ruiz in the show “Juncal.”

During 2006/07, he formed his first company. In 2007, he joined the show “Kahlo, Kaló” by Amador Rojas, with choreography by Rafael Estévez. Javier Barón included him in his show “Dos voces para un baile.” He performed again at the Seville Biennial, this time as part of the “Jóvenes Valores del Flamenco” Company with the work “Tiempos Pasados.” In 2008, he premiered the show ‘Leoleolé’ at the Jerez Festival, along with the dancer Leonor Leal. In 2009, he joined Manuela Carrasco’s Company, which included him in “Suspiro Flamenco.” At the Mont de Marsan Festival, along with Rafael Campallo, he premiered the show “Puente de Triana.” He ended the year by participating in the Larachi Flamenca Festival in Paris with the dancer María Moreno. In 2010, he collaborated with the pianist Pedro Ricardo Miño and continued to be part of Javier Barón’s Company, premiering ‘Vaivenes’ at the XVI Seville Flamenco Biennial. In 2011, he performed at the iconic tablao Casa Patas in Madrid, along with the dancers María Moreno and Jesús Carmona, and at El Cordobés in Barcelona. In 2011, he continued with the tours of “Suspiros Flamencos” and “Vaivenes,” taught courses at the Mont de Marsan Festival, and closed the XVIII Flamenco Art Festival of Monterrey (Mexico) with his show “Solera 85.” In 2012, he performed with Manuela Carrasco’s company on a tour of the United States and England. In 2013, he returned to work at the Jerez Festival in the “Jóvenes y Maestros” cycle and presented a new show by the Cristina Heeren Foundation with the dancers Luisa Palicio and Alberto Selles, “Entre Dos Orillas.” In 2014, he worked with the guitarist Niño de Pura illustrating his recitals and was a guest artist in Juana Amaya’s show, “Morón Baila.” In 2015, he premiered the first show with his own company, “Aviso: Bayles de Jitanos,” at the XX Jerez Festival, under the direction of Rafael Estévez, for which he received the Revelation Award from Bar Juanito.

In 2016, he premiered his first solo show: “Aviso: Bayles de Jitanos” at the XX Jerez Festival, directed by Rafael Estévez and produced by the Cristina Heeren Foundation with the collaboration of the Andalusian Institute of Flamenco. With the show, he won the Revelation Award of the Festival. Since its premiere, the show has been performed until 2018 in different places such as Tel Aviv, at the “Flamenco Days Festival” in Albuquerque, “Iberica Contemporánea” in Querétaro, “Flamenco Art Festival” in Monterrey, “Aire Flamenco Festival” in Mont de Marsan, “Andalusian Festival” in Avignon, “Tanzhaus Nrw” in Düsseldorf, Suma Flamenca in Madrid, the Grand Theater of Huelva, and at the Seville Flamenco Biennial, among others. In 2018, he premiered his second show: “Gelem” at the Villamarta Theater within the XXII Jerez Festival, also performed at the Grand Theater of Huelva and at Suma Flamenca in Madrid, at the Teatros del Canal. In April of that year, he also presented a smaller show, “Mi baile,” at the Los Jueves Flamencos de Cajasol cycle. In 2019, he also entered as a guest artist in Miguel Poveda’s show “Íntimo,” with which he continues to collaborate. In 2022, he premiered the show “#SiDiosKiere” at the Villamarta Theater within the 26th Jerez Festival.
