Flamenco dancer, better known in the history of flamenco dance by her artistic name CARMEN MORENO VALENZUELA, was born in Almería in 1989, in the Pescadería neighborhood. She began her journey with the Almerian dancer, María la Rabota. At the age of 12, she entered the Almería Conservatory of Dance to commence her elementary and professional studies.
She later completed her education at the Superior Conservatory of Dance in Málaga. Concurrently with her studies, she trained with artists such as Pepito Ruíz, Pastora Galvan, Carmen González, La Lupi, Chiqui de Jerez, Patricia Guerrero, and Carmen “La talegona,” among others. She has worked with various “Cuadros Flamencos” in Málaga, at the Tablao el Cortijo Sttutgart, in Cristina Seguín’s Dracula company, and in the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Dance company of Mario García Cáceres.
She is a dancer who, from a young age, was aware that her destiny lay on the stage. She now experiences a unique artistic moment, with her life revolving around Seville, Madrid, Granada, and Almería. Her initial flamenco dance knowledge was acquired from María La Rabota. Later, Carmen Moreno studied at the Kina Jiménez Professional Conservatory of Dance in Almería, completing her higher education at the Superior Conservatory of Dance and Dramatic Art in Málaga.
She has also received training from the great masters of flamenco dance and has performed in various tablaos in Granada, Almería, Málaga, and Seville, showcasing her remarkable stage interpretation skills. Tablaos are an integral part of her life, as she considers her artistic journey to be “a long-distance race.” “Nothing is easy, and you have to be aware of the value of things. It has all been very beautiful; I have learned many things during this time.”
