Performances at La Cantaora
Born in Seville in 1970, he began his journey in the world of flamenco at the age of twelve, training at academies such as Matilde Coral’s. He later continued his studies at José Galván’s academy, where he spent several years and trained with renowned masters such as Mario Escudero.
His professional career took off when he joined the now-closed Tablao Flamenco “La Trocha,” where he shared the stage with great flamenco figures like Paco Toronjo and Angelita Vargas. At the age of fifteen, he was already alternating tours with José Galván’s show and television appearances, performing in prestigious theaters across Europe, including the Barbican in London and the Bucharest Opera, as well as in countries like Austria, Sweden, Italy, and France.
Since 1991, he has been a key member of the company of Japanese dancer Yoko Komatsubara, with whom he has toured extensively in Asia and the Americas. Additionally, he is responsible for composing music for the shows, collaborating with artists such as David Peña Dorantes and Chicuelo. Throughout his career, he has worked with renowned figures like Joaquín Cortés, María del Mar Berlanga, and Antonio Márquez, with whom he has performed on international stages.
His career highlights include performances at events such as the Expo in Nagoya in 2005 and the Expo in Zaragoza in 2008, where he presented a show that combined the traditional Japanese Yoruri theater with flamenco, receiving rave reviews. He has also participated in the Bienal de Flamenco and has carried out several tours in Asia, presenting innovative performances that merge musical traditions from the East and West.
Over the years, his dedication to flamenco has led him to explore and share his art on international stages, collaborating with great artists and enriching his career with unique experiences that have allowed him to expand the horizons of flamenco globally.
